Live Your Best Life: Year 30

On Wednesday, February 8th, 1995 at 11:45pm, 12 minutes after my twin sister was delivered, I finally came into this world, and two Saturdays ago, I officially turned 30! The days leading up to my 30th birthday, on a college-ruled loose leaf paper, I wrote down a list of all the things I’ve accomplished in my 20s. From moving to a new state, to obtaining 2 degrees onto my 3rd, starting my own business (SuppliedByAli Stationery Line) and a ministry (SingleChronicles7 LLC), getting involved in a dance school as an extracurricular activity (Contemporary, Afro-Caribbean, and Hip Hop), becoming a Step/Dance Team coach, starting my career as a school psychologist and…

    Reasons to Hold On

I wrote a blog post nearly 4 years ago entitled, “When God Gives You a Word” and the other night, I kept looking at the word God gave me on May 28th, 2015 [written in a journal entry]. I reread it over and over again, taking my time to really meditate on what was given to me. Soon approaching year 10 (May 28th, 2025) and the word has yet to come to pass. Did I lose faith along the journey? Yes. Many many times. Have I gotten discouraged, frustrated, overwhelmed, angry, and anxious? Yes, yes, and yes. Am I still holding on to the word in this very moment despite…

There Is Power in Your Testimony

There is power, healing, and deliverance in your testimony. The Word of God tells us that you will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the words of your testimony (Revelation 12:11). There is a real devil out here who despises your testimony because he knows that chains will be broken off the next person who hears it. Therefore, he will place the spirit of shame and embarrassment upon you so that you remain tight-lipped and quiet, but need I remind you that you serve a God that goes with you and will never leave you nor forsake you so be strong and courageous (Deuteronomy 31:6). Own your…

    Dry Season

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”  10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these.”  11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.” 12 So he sent for him and had…

    Let Your Faith Arise

Scripture tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is about having complete trust and confidence in someone or even something without physical, tangible proof. In Biblical sense, it is about trusting God even when your circumstances look far from able. It is not always easy walking this thing called faith when you haven’t seen much change in the area that you are desperately wanting a miracle and breakthrough in but that is not the open door for you to lose your faith. If you are struggling in your faith today, your obedience and relying on Scripture…

Step Out of Your Comfort Zone & Step Out on Faith

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. (2 Timothy 1:7, AMP).   One thing about having a business is being able to market yourself through advertisement and getting out there. As a school psychologist, I spend more than half of my career sitting in meetings with lawyers/attorneys, advocates, supervisors, family members, and friends. I have been in meetings where it has been recorded. And can I tell you that that does not scare me?…
