Let Your Faith Arise
Scripture tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is about having complete trust and confidence in someone or even something without physical, tangible proof. In Biblical sense, it is about trusting God even when your circumstances look far from able. It is not always easy walking this thing called faith when you haven’t seen much change in the area that you are desperately wanting a miracle and breakthrough in but that is not the open door for you to lose your faith.
If you are struggling in your faith today, your obedience and relying on Scripture is vital. It doesn’t take much to become discouraged, overwhelmed, frustrated, stressed, and disappointed when you are going through. It almost makes sense to give up rather than hold on. But if you want to receive all that God has for you, you have to learn to encourage yourself and remain in faith. You do so by opening up your Bible and reminding yourself of who God is. Focusing on God makes Him so much bigger than your problems. As you decrease, God will begin to increase. He will reveal Himself to you in the midst as you commune with Him. God is not looking for you to spend hours reading the Bible from front to back. He is looking for you to seek Him with your whole heart through it all.
When my faith is weak, I remind myself of these next few verses:
Therefore, the promise comes by faith (Romans 4:16)…Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised (Romans 4:18-21).
He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering,” (Mark 5:34).
I rehearse parts of these verses. I meditate greatly on it, reading it over and over again until I am strengthened and my faith is renewed. The Word of God surely does come alive (Hebrews 4:12). It has power to change your mindset and give you hope. Attending church, serving, spending time in godly community, journaling, going to therapy, and resting are all great things to do but knowing God for yourself by spending time with Him is the most important thing you could ever do. He can do what no man can.
The next time you feel low in faith, turn to God. Try it. It works!
