Do I Need To Test Drive The Car?
You do not need to test drive the car. If God is in it, you won’t need too. God will never fail you, and His Word states that over and over again. He wants the best for His children, and if you put your trust in Him, He will lead you and direct your footsteps (Proverbs 3:6) and (Psalm 37:23). He will tell you exactly what to do and how to do it. The reason why people test drive something is because they are putting their trust in themselves, or in what they have seen or heard. If you truly rely on your Heavenly Father to supply all of your needs, in which He will (Philippians 4:19), you honestly do not have a thing to worry about. God will reward your faithfulness and obedience when you give Him this area of your life.
I remember talking to a friend one day about sex, and she stated that she wants to enter her marriage with the knowledge that her husband knows what he is doing in terms of sex. I told her that that is a selfish and unhealthy mentality because the focus is solely on what she can get rather than on what she can give. If you are ever wondering, “Shouldn’t I have sex now so that when I do get married, I know what I am doing?“, I am going to tell you to stop. If God is in it, He will show you the ropes. He will teach you everything when it comes to physical intimacy with your spouse. God can show you what your spouse likes or doesn’t like even before your spouse tells you! God can make physical intimacy so beautiful because everything that God touches is beautiful. I believe that He will give you new tricks and ideas without you having to experiment. He will blow your mind. Even if you are not a virgin but you are choosing to abstain until marriage, good for you! There is nothing wrong with entering marriage with little to no experience in the area of sex. Sex is supposed to be explored within the container of marriage. That’s how God intended it to be. God created sex, not man. So let Him lead you in that area!
