How To Heal From Insecurities Part II

When someone tells you something that does not line up with what God has spoken over you, it is a lie. What you do with that lie is vital. The enemy wants you to believe those lies so that you can stay defeated and bounded. God wants you to break free from those lies so that you can live the full and abundant life He has set out for you. People perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6) but when you gain knowledge and know the truth, you will be forever set free (John 8:32).

Unfortunately, we cannot control what others say or do to us; however, we can control how we receive it. The best way to kill a lie is with the truth. The truth is the Word of God. Indeed words are very powerful and that is why God says to be careful of what you speak into existence because the power of life and death are in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Just as words are powerful so is the Word (Hebrews 4:12). The Word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). What you do with the Word will result in your breakthrough.

You want to get to a point in your life where insults roll off of you like water off of a duck’s back. We have so much insecurities because we wear those lies as our everyday garments when our everyday garments should be garments of praise. Take off that garment of insecurities today and start receiving God’s truth.

Examples:

If someone tells or makes you feel like there is something wrong with you or that you are not attractive enough, just say, “No, I don’t receive that because the Word of God states that I am altogether beautiful and that there is no flaw in me (Song of Songs 4:7).”

If someone tells you or makes you feel as if you are too old to go back to school, have children, start something, or whatever it may be pertaining to your age, you say, “No, I don’t receive that because the Word of God states that with long life, He will satisfy me (Psalm 91:16).”

If someone tells you or makes you feel as if what you are doing won’t make it in this world or become successful, just say, “No I don’t receive that because the Word of God states that everything that I touch will prosper and succeed (Deuteronomy 15:10 & 30:9).”

If someone tells you or makes you feel as if you won’t ever get that job, that school, that career, that car, that promotion, that house/apartment, etc. of your choice, just say, “No, I don’t receive that because the Word of God states that surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life (Psalm 23:6). God causes His blessings to overtake me (Deuteronomy 28:2). His favor to surround me like a shield (Psalm 5:12).”

Do you see where I am going with this? Every negative word is combated with the truth. God didn’t leave His Word so that it can sit there. He left His Word so that it can be used as a weapon to destroy that bondage of insecurity. When someone says or does something that does not agree with who God called you to be or what He has called you to do, cancel it immediately by stating, “No, I don’t receive that”. Finish it off with His truth.

Your job today is to find one scripture that deals with what you are going through. Meditate on it. Let it become your daily bread. Once you meditate on that one scripture, find another. Keep going. And DO NOT stop! When those lies come, don’t sit in it. Break it. When you start to get in the habit of doing so, you will notice a difference in your thought process. You will feel the godly confidence start to rise from within.
